Jamaicans use Animation as an effective way of teaching young Jamaicans life skills and art that are often not taught in schools. While this representation is a milestone, many Jamaican animators’ quest for representation that goes beyond just having characters who look like them. Animation has also become a tool for preserving endangered Jamaican dialect. Through entertainment, these creators are hoping to use animation as a vehicle for Jamaican mythologies, philosophies, rich traditions and cultural expressions.
